So many people wait until they see the close date for a job opportunity. They email me the day before in a blind panic wondering how quickly I can get their resume done, and can I have it to them by 9am tomorrow morning…

It never ceases to amaze me.

Never, ever, ever wait until the last minute. I understand you may not see a job offer until it is ready to close applications, but be prepared NOW. Have a resume and cover letter written, updated and ready to go. You should have an updated one done every 3- 6 months in this job market so that it always shows current.

Not quite sure on that answer… if he stalled that long, I can’t imagine he would race over to Borders (although I did give him lots of tips to DIY).

Ok, 4:30, Bob has plenty of time to head over to Borders and buy a couple of resume books to do it on his own and get it in, in plenty of time.

Kind of weird really-why the complete lack of motivation?

I agree. I thought if he REALLY wanted the job, he would have been more motivated– would have done his homework a bit sooner.
